Gonna be one or two more of these before the 17th to remind people about the other platforms I exist on. I’m on Twitter, Hentai Foundry, and I also created a Newgrounds profile which is, at the moment, fairly bare but I’ll be updating it with stuff soon.
Also, after looking more at the rules and getting clarification from outside…yeah I’m definitely going to have my account shut down after the 17th lmao (if not sooner given how they’re going about this).
Lastly, I know it’s incredibly frustrating and it feels like cause for panic when platforms start restricting adult content, then also lump queer art and stories and discussion into that category with it (I know I just draw dirty pictures I’m not necessarily saying that I’m any bigger a deal than just that–this is just worth being said). I don’t want to tell people not to get riled up, but I do want to tell you not to panic.
I just, I don’t know, this might be off brand or whatever but I wanted to tell people that it’s going to be ok. I mean, things suck and there’s definitely a huge resurgence of anti-porn, anti-sex sentiment happening. It feels like the 80′s all over again. But they can’t get rid of us. From people like me, to sex workers (who, by the way, have it MUCH MORE difficult than people who draw cartoon dicks–look into it, tell demand your representatives commit to repealing SESTA/FOSTA, because that is an enormous part of this whole mess), to even the most wholesome of queer artists and writers getting flagged as “adult content”–we’re always going to be here. People are already reacting with lists and archives to make sure we don’t go anywhere. All those groups, and all the overlap therein, are incredibly good at organizing and coming together.
And if you’ll allow me to get really, really up on myself for a second: sexuality is a part of being human. It’s messy and weird and nobody can kill it no matter how hard they try. Don’t let the prudes win.
